Bachelor of Science in Computer Science
The Computer Science is a 3 1/2 years program that covers all the fundamental courses in computer science such as programming and algorithmic development, coupled with industry-oriented courses that train students under two tracks: Information Systems and Software Engineering. The Information Systems track focuses on providing technology-based solutions to business problems. Specialized courses include e-commerce, object-oriented analysis and design, web development, and advanced databases. The Software Engineering track, on the other hand, focuses on the design and development of SW products. Specialized courses include intelligent systems, robotics, virtual reality, 3D graphics, and computer-user interfaces.
The students are expected to become problem solvers, familiar with different paradigms and well-versed in theory. They will be exposed to interdisciplinary environment since they will be taking subjects being offered by other Schools such as the School of Information and Communication Studies and Business Administration (as part of their elective subjects - 12 to 15 units).
