Christmas Season at DLSC

The Christmas Season has officially started at DLSC with the lighting of the 1st Advent candle at the main lobby of the Milagros V. del Rosario Building on December 3, 2007. Sponsored by the College department, college faculty members and students led the community in prayers and singing of Christmas songs to mark the beginning of the Advent Season. College Dean Dr. Arnulfo Azcarraga delivered a message on the history of the lighting of candles during Advent Season and the significance for the continuance of this practice as part of the Catholic tradition. Simultaneously, a lighting of the 1st Advent candle was also done at the Learning Community 1 led by Lasallian Ministry Office head, Mr. Mel Oribe.

The lighting of the Institutional Christmas Tree was done in the afternoon of the same day with prayers and singing of Christmas songs led by the IS Faculty Choir. DLSC Brother President Br. Joaquin Martinez FSC delivered his message to community after which the countdown to lighting of Christmas tree followed. A simple salu-salo followed the lighting of Christmas tree with Christmas songs continued to be played at the background while community members enjoyed each other's company in a less formal setting.

Dubbed as "Lasalyanong Pasko, Nagkakaisa Para sa Kapwa Ko," other activities for this year's Christmas at DLSC include the IS Christmas Program on December 8, Lighting of the 2nd Advent Candle on December 10 (sponsored by the Non-Teaching Personnel), Lighting of the 3rd and 4th Advent Candles on December 17 (sponsored by the IS Department), Institutional Christmas Party on December 18, IS Faculty Christmas Concert on December 20 and the "Lasalyanong Handog Para Kay Ate at Kuya" , IS Class Christmas Party and Institutional Christmas Party for Contracted Personnel on December 21.
