De La Salle Canlubang college students brought home seven awards from the recently concluded Campus Journalism Awards (CJA) held on January 23, 2009

 

The CJA encourages student writers to excel in the different areas of journalism, particularly in editorial writing, cartooning, photojournalism and investigative reporting. It is one of the programs under the Student Publications Office of De La Salle University-Manila.

First year student Carlo Miguel Saavedra was the Gold Medalist for News Reporting. Paul Garcia, a junior student brought home a gold medal for Editorial Cartooning and a silver medal for Photojournalism. Cat Triviño, also a third year student won two awards - a gold medal for Editorial Writing and a bronze for News Writing. Sophomore Rob Tiongson was the Silver Medalist for Sports Writing.
