The Lasallian Missions office of De La Salle Canlubang staged a prayer rally, calling on Lasallians and Filipinos to express indignation over the massacre of 57 people that happened in the town of Ampatuan in Maguindanao province last November 23, 2009. 

Prior to the prayer rally, a minute of silence was observed on Tuesday, December 8. 

A candle lighting service was held in front of the main lobby of the Milagros R. Del Rosario Building, which was attended by Integrated School and College students and faculty, administrators and staff.  

In an open invitation made by Mr. Melchor Oribe, director of the Lasallian Missions Office, he said that “as an institution of faith and learning, we ought to stand for what is true and just, to speak against abuses of national authorities, to reflect on our own ways of viewing the power that we all possess and to allow this event to be a teaching moment for all”.
